NORFOLK, Va. (AP)- A former security assistant at a school in Virginia Beach has pleaded guilty to charges that she had a sexual relationship with a student.

Media outlets report 23-year-old Patience Justine Perez entered the plea Thursday in Norfolk to two counts of indecent liberties with a minor.

Perez was fired in March from Renaissance Academy in Virginia Beach.

Virginia Beach police have said a consensual, sexual relationship between Perez and the boy took place away from the school.

Norfolk police have said Perez took the boy to her Norfolk home on multiple occasions in February.

Sentencing has been set for Dec. 20. Perez faces a January hearing on similar charges in Virginia Beach.

Charges accusing Perez of conspiring with the boy to kill her husband were dropped in August.
