DOVER, Del. (AP) - A federal judge says attorneys for relatives of a man who killed his former daughter-in-law and another woman at a Delaware courthouse can have more time to defend their clients on federal conspiracy and stalking charges.

The judge this week granted a defense request to designate the case against David Matusiewicz, his mother, Lenore, and his sister, Amy Gonzalez, as complex. He ordered attorneys to submit a status report by Nov. 8.

The three defendants are charged with conspiracy and stalking of David's ex-wife, Christine Belford, resulting in her death.

Belford was killed in February by her former father-in-law, Thomas Matusiewicz, who also killed her friend Laura Mulford before exchanging gunfire with police and killing himself.

Matusiewicz's family has denied knowing that he planned to kill Belford.
