CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Detectives from the Cambridge Police Department have taken into custody a man wanted for allegedly stabbing his estranged girlfriend more than two months ago.

Timothy Lee Spencer, 48, of Cambridge, was extradited on Oct. 25 from Boston to Cambridge and charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure.

Police said that following the Aug. 18 stabbing, Spencer's estranged girlfriend was treated for injuries she sustained and is now in good condition, police said.

Following his return to Cambridge, Spencer was ordered held in the Dorchester County Jail on $1 million bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 18.
