Tonya Bundick Trial Delayed

Posted: Updated:

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. - The trial for Tonya Bundick, one of two people arrested for their connection to a string of arson fires in Accomack County, has been delayed.  The trial, scheduled to begin on Nov. 6 in Virginia Beach, has been continued as Bundick now needs new legal representation.

A judge on Tuesday allowed Shannon and Garret Dunham, Bundick's legal counsel to withdraw from the case. They will remain as her counsel until the court can appoint Bundick a new attorney.

Bundick was indicted in August on one count of arson and one count of conspiracy to commit arson.  Her fiance, Charles Smith, faces 67 counts of arson and one county of conspiracy to commit arson. Smith has requested a bench trial in Accomack County.

As of yet, no date has been set for Bundick's trial that has been moved to Virginia Beach.
