SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury man is facing attempted murder and related charges after authorities say he fired gunshots into an occupied home.

Police said the arrest of 26-year-old Kenny Louis Lopez stemmed from an incident that occurred at around 6:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, when he entered a home on the 200 block of Holland Avenue. Police said when Lopez asked to see the homeowner's cousin, the victim told Lopez her cousin was not home. That is when Lopez showed the victim a handgun, police said.

Authorities said Lopez then left the home and fired several shots into the house before fleeing the area by car. Police said one of the shots entered the home and became lodged into a wall.

No injuries were reported. There were six people in the house at the time of the shooting, police said.

Deputies arrested Lopez at his home on the 800 block of South Schumaker Drive on Tuesday. Investigators also said a warrant search of his home led to the recovery of a stolen handgun and ammunition.

Lopez was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, handgun on person and handgun in vehicle. He was ordered held without bond in the Wicomico County Detention Center.
