Harrington Man Arrested for 5th DUI

HARRINGTON, Del.- Authorities say a 50-year-old Harrington man has been arrested for his 5th offense DUI.

Harrington police said that on Monday, officers were called to the 100 block of Dorman Street for a suspicious vehicle. According to police, Jerry L. Legates was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle with the motor running. After field tests were conducted, Legates was transported to the Harrington Police Department, where police said he blew into an intoxilyzer machine and failed.

In addition to being charged with 5th offense DUI, was charged with failure to comply with taking photos and fingerprints and failure to have required insurance.

Legates was transported to Sussex Correctional Institution where he was ordered held in default of bond.
