HARRINGTON, Del.- A Bremerton, Wash. woman was arrested Saturday by Harrington police on drug-related charges following a traffic stop.

Police said officers stopped a vehicle on U.S. Route 13 for a speeding violation. When the officer made contact with the driver, 27-year-old Anna L. Lawrence, he said he could smell an odor of marijuana.

After receiving Lawrence's information, the officer went back to his vehicle and asked for assistance from another officer. Police said the officer later asked for consent to search the vehicle, which was granted.

During the search, police said the officer located an amount of marijuana in a glass cylinder. Lawrence was questioned about the marijuana and stated it was hers.

Lawrence was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Harrington Police Department where she was processed and arraigned out of Justice of the Peace Court #7.

Lawrence was later released on a $1,000 unsecured bond pending a future court appearance at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
