Bridgeville Man Arrested for His 11th DUI

BRIDGEVILLE, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a Bridgeville man for his 11th DUI offense.

Troopers say 77-year-old Ruppert Bell Jr. was arrested after 6:30 p.m. Saturday, after he was seen swerving several times into the northbound lane of Coverdale Road just north of Hastings Farm Road.

Bell was taken back to Troop 5 where troopers learned Bell had prior DUI's that dated back to 1987.

A computer search by police discovered 10 previous DUI convictions.

Bell was also charged with speeding, driving while suspended or revoked and other charges. He is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $16,102 cash bond.
