BETHANY BEACH, Del.- A few weeks ago the town of Bethany Beach canceled its Halloween parade because of anticipated road construction on Garfield Parkway. Halloween has come and gone but the construction has yet to begin.

According to the town's website, "Two structures have been determined to be too close to vehicles as they negotiate the proposed new traffic pattern for the project."

Those structures have delayed construction until Nov. 11 and the delays have some business owners worried.

"Whenever we don't know we get nervous because then should we anticipate something for a different time, the thing is for us personally we sell fudge online so we have a holiday business," said Khristina Andrews.

Bethany Fine Arts Gallery owner Hope Orhelein wasn't so happy when the Halloween parade was canceled but she'd like the delay to last a little longer.

"I wish it would be over and start after Thanksgiving instead of killing our business before Thanksgiving," she said.
