Pregnant Woman Tackled by O.C. Police Appears in Court

Posted:

OCEAN CITY, Md.- A pregnant woman who had to undergo an emergency C-Section after she was tackled by a police officer in Ocean City, was in court Wednesday. The Woodbridge woman was charged with assault and resisting arrest.

A group of beachgoers were seen in a cell phone video being arrested by Ocean City police in July. You can spot officers tackling the woman to the ground. She was facing charges for resisting arrest and assault after she and three others were accused of yelling, cursing and disrupting families.

Three others, Abdul Kargbo, 25, Musa Seisay, 24, Saidu Kargbo, 21, also faced charges in connection with the incident.

Lindsay O'Neal with the Ocean City Police said it all started with the group allegedly acting disorderly. A lifeguard asked them to calm down, but one of the suspects allegedly threatened the lifeguard, according to O'Neal.

Police arrived and the threats continued, leading to the alleged altercations.

"We have full confidence at this point that our officers acted appropriately," O'Neal said. "We stand firmly behind our officers. Our officers followed policy and procedures." O'Neal goes on to say, "there will not be an internal investigation."
