DOVER, Del. - Holiday season is right around the corner. While some may not even be preparing, Dover Police Department already has plans set.

"I think it's wonderful," said Dawn Bracken of Hartley. "The holidays are very tough and trying times for a lot of people. The last thing they need to worry about is getting from their store to their vehicle."

Captain Tim Stump with the Dover Police Department said every year they plan for the holidays.
This year they will have an increase in police presences. Some you may not even notice. According to Captain Stump, there will also be officers in regular clothes to help keep people safe.

Armand Ramon agrees saying he thinks it's a great that the police are going to increase their presences this holiday season.

"I think it's a good idea because people kind of do get crazy around the holidays," said Ramon. "I think it's very mature of them and they're trying to help keep people protected honestly."
