Fire Damages Grasonville Home

GRASONVILLE, Md. - The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a house fire in Queen Anne's County.

Firefighters responded to the one story, single family home around 5 p.m. Saturday along Bree Court.

It took 36 firefighters from the Grasonville, Kent Island and Queenstown Fire Departments about 20 minutes to put out the fire. There were no reported injuries. 

Damage is estimated at $240,000.

Authorities say the fire started in the kitchen. The home did have a working smoke alarm.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
