Posted: Updated:

NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware's elected officials are joining with veterans groups for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony in New Castle.

Gov. Jack Markell planned to join all three members of Delaware's congressional delegation and other officials Monday for the ceremony at the foot of the Delaware Memorial Bridge honoring the military service of America's veterans.

The National Veterans Day Committee in Washington has designated Veterans Day in New Castle as a National Veterans Day Regional Site for the nation's 60th annual Veterans Day celebration.

This year's ceremony in Delaware marks the 22nd year of participation along with 54 similarly recognized sites across the country.
