Woman Rescued from Burning Home, Taken to Burn Center

Posted:

DOVER, Del. – An 85-year-old woman was rescued from a fire in a mobile home near Dover.

The Camden-Wyoming Fire Company says the fire happened at noon on Monday on Tall Pines Drive.

Fire Chief Tom Rigsby says a state trooper tried to get the woman out, but the flames forced him back.

Rigsby says firefighters rescued the woman from a bedroom, and she was then taken to Crozer Burn Center in Pennsylvania, in critical condition.

A second person hurt in the fire was treated and released at a local hospital.

The Fire Marshal's Office says they're still investigating the cause of the fire, and notes there were no working smoke alarms in the home.
