Troopers Searching for Suspect in Armed Robbery

DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery of a convenience store in Dover.

Investigators said it happened around 6 p.m. Monday. According to police, a suspect entered the Shore Stop on the 1600 block of South Dupont Highway and confronted a 30-year-old female employee. The suspect displayed a handgun in his waistband and demanded money from the register. Police said employee complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect ran out of the store and headed toward the Rodney Village neighborhood.

Police described the suspect as a black male, between 5-foot-9 and 6-feet-tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with white draw strings and a baseball cap under the hood.

No injuries were reported. Troopers ask anyone with information to contact police at (302) 697-2104 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
