Dorchester County Trailer Home Fire Under Investigation

LINKWOOD, Md.- Authorities are investigating a fire that left a Dorchester County mobile home in ruins.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze occurred around 4:45 p.m. Monday in a 12-foot by 60-foot trailer home on the 3000 block of Karen Circle.

It took 20 firefighters from the Linkwood, East New Market, Hurlock and Rescue fire departments about 45 minutes to get the one alarm fire under control.

The fire originated from an attached front porch on the trailer and was discovered by a neighbor, according to authorities.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damages to the home and another $5,000 in damages to its contents.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
