Man Arrested After Bus Passenger is Robbed in Delaware

Posted: Updated:

CLAYMONT, Del. (AP) - Delaware State police say a man has been arrested after a cellphone was stolen from a bus passenger in Claymont.

It happened about 8:20 p.m. Monday. Troopers say a man asked a passenger if he could use the passenger's iPhone. When the passenger gave the man his iPhone, the man ran off the bus.

Police say the passenger chased the man and was able to grab his shirt, but let go when the man threatened to shoot him. Troopers say the passenger called his father and told him about the incident, including a description of the suspect. While the father was driving to pick up his son, he saw a man who matched the description and called police.

Twenty-one-year-old Abdul Cruz of Wilmington was arrested and charged with robbery.
