Wesley College Athlete Named NFHCA 1st Team All-South Region

DOVER, Del.- For the second-straight season and the third time in her career, a Wesley College student athlete has been named a Longstreth NFHCA Division III Field Hockey First Team All-South Region selection, the organization announced Monday.

Senior Madison Leone, a native of Dover, Del., was named the Capital Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year for the second-straight season, sharing the honors with Belle Tunstall of Christopher Newport University. A 2012 All-American, Leone led the Wolverines in every offensive category with 12 goals, eight assists, 32 points and four game-winning goals despite missing the first three games due to injury.

All three of her rankings were ranked in the top five in the CAC following the conference playoffs. Leone was also chosen to play in the Front Rush NFHCA Division III Senior Game later this month and ranks second in Wesley history in goals (71), assists (30) and points (172), all of which rank in the top give in CAC history as well.

Leone is now eligible for All-American honors, which will be announced on Dec. 2.
