Salisbury Man Arrested Following Police Chase

Updated:

SALISBURY, Md.- Deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office arrested a Salisbury man in connection with a police chase stemming back to Feb. 7.

Terrence Shonte Gaines, 35, was charged with fleeing and eluding. According to police, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop Gaines for speeding on Riverside Drive. Instead of stopping, police said Gaines drove into an adjacent residential neighborhood and attempted to flee the deputy before returning to Riverside Drive.

Gaines reportedly led the deputy to a downtown residential area of Salisbury where he slowed his car and jumped out. According to police, he ran off while the deputy was forced to chase Gaines' car that was left in gear and continuing down the street. Deputies said they managed to stop the vehicle but Gaines was nowhere to be found.

Gaines was located in Delaware and brought back to Wicomico County on Nov. 15. He is being held in the Wicomico County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
