EASTON, Md.- Maryland transportation officials are warning drivers to plan ahead for bridge openings for  inspections next month on the Dover Bridge.

The State Highway Administration will perform a routine inspection of the MD331 (Dover Bridge) from Monday, Dec. 9 to Friday, Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., weather permitting.

The inspection will include testing brief openings of the bridge which will last between 5 and 15 minutes. Traffic will be stopped while the span is open.  Disruption to marine traffic is also anticipated.

Inspectors will review all structural, mechanical and electrical components of the bridge.

Transportation officials remind drivers to keep work zones safe. Stay alert- look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers.
