Parents, Infant Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Posted:

NEW MARKET, Md. (AP) - The Frederick County Sheriff's office says a mother, father and infant were fatally shot in an apparent murder-suicide, but a 5-year-old girl escaped to a neighbor's home.

Authorities were called to the home on Woods Court in New Market on Wednesday night after the girl told neighbors her parents were hurt.

Capt. Tim Clarke of the county sheriff's office says deputies found three people dead from gunshot wounds and investigators are investigating the case as a murder-suicide. Clark says the girl was unhurt and is in the care of Child Protective Services.

Authorities did not identify the 40-year-old man, his 42-year-old wife and the infant boy, who was less than a year old.
