Bear Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in Del. Motorcycle Crash

MIDDLETOWN, Del.- A 60-year-old Bear man who was injured in a motorcycle crash on Nov. 17 has died from his injuries, Delaware state police said.

Troopers said they learned that Gary Brounce, 60, of Bear, Del., died Wednesday from the injuries sustained in a crash three days earlier. The crash happened shortly before 2 p.m. as Brounce rode a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Cedar Lane Road.

Troopers said the motorcycle drifted off of the right side of the roadway, causing Brounce to overcorrect, lost control of the motorcycle and falling. The motorcycle and Brounce slid north on the roadway and came to rest in an embankment on the western edge of the roadway.

Brounce was flown by state police helicopter to Christiana Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. Troopers said they were notified Tuesday that Brounce died on Nov. 20.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation.
