Man Who Was Driver in 22 Robberies Sentenced

Posted:

BALTIMORE (AP)- A Baltimore man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for being the getaway driver in 22 armed robberies.

Thirty-four-year-old Rico Bias was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Baltimore.

According to his plea agreement, between January and June 2012, Bias conspired with others to rob convenience stores, fast-food restaurants and other businesses. A conspirator brandished a gun during the crimes, and a customer was shot in one robbery.

Prosecutors say Bias obtained and drove the getaway cars in each of the robberies.
