WILMINGTON, Del. (AP)- Gov. Jack Markell and environmental officials are joining DuPont Co. officials to tout completion of a solar energy project. Officials will gather at DuPont's Chestnut Run facility on Friday to announce the completion of a 548-kilowatt, five-acre solar installation. The DuPont solar power project, built on a former landfill site, will produce enough electricity to power 60 homes in the Newport community. Officials say the solar installation, one of four that DuPont has in Delaware, will generate about 729,000 kilowatt hour of power per year.
