DELMAR, Del.- Delaware State Police detectives are searching for a Delmar, Del. man accused of stealing thousands of dollars through an investment scheme.

Detectives said that back in February, 48-year-old Rodney Bounds approached the victim, a 76-year-old Delmar man, and asked the victim to invest in a helicopter business. The victim turned over $5,000 to Bounds, according to police. Detectives said Bounds contacted the victim several months later and received more money for the business.

Investigators said that for the past several months, the victim has been unsuccessfully attempting to contact Bounds. Bounds cannot be located and detectives have been unable to find any sign that the helicopter company was a legitimate business, police said.

Anyone with information on Bounds' whereabouts is asked to contact the Troop 4 Financial Crimes Unit at (302) 856-5850, ext. 257, or by utilizing the DSP Mobile Crime Tip Application available to download at: http://www.delaware.gov/apps/.  Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via www.tipsubmit.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."
