Police Issue Salisbury Christmas Parade Advisory

SALISBURY, Md.- City police say the following roadways will be closed to traffic for the Salisbury Christmas Parade that begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Traffic at the following locations will be closed from approximately 1-4 p.m.

  • Mt. Hermon Rd from Civic Avenue to Long Avenue
  • East Main Street from Long Avenue to Snow Hill Road
  • Southbound Truitt Street from Route 50 to Five Points
  • Westbound East Main Street from Route 50 to Five Points
  • Southbound Ward Street from Route 50 to East Main Street
  • Surrounding smaller streets connected to above will also be closed.

Civic Avenue from Glen Avenue to Mt. Hermon Road may close as early as noon for parade line-up.

Eastbound East Main Street from Route 13 to Snow Hill Road and northbound Snow Hill Road from South Park Drive to East Main Street may also be temporarily closed near the end of the parade.

The above areas are expected to be congested with high volumes of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Police said all motorists should expect delays and utilize extreme caution while driving in the area. Avoid this area if possible.
