Storm Leaves More Than 114,000 in Va. Without Power

RICHMOND, Va. (AP)- A winter storm has left more than 114,000 customers in Virginia without electricity.

More than 85,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers didn't have electricity as of 10:30 a.m. Monday, including 71,245 customers in Northern Virginia.

Dominion also reports more than 5,400 outages in the Richmond metro area and about 5,700 in the Shenandoah Valley-Western Piedmont region. There are smaller outages in other areas Dominion serves.

Appalachian Power reports about 7,900 outages, including more than 2,200 in Campbell County.

More than 21,000 outages have been reported by Virginia's electric cooperatives.
