WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware's governor says state offices in New Castle County are closed in anticipation of wintry weather.
The governor's office released a statement early Tuesday saying that removing non-essential state employees from the roadways is the "cautious thing to do." The statement urges drivers who do not need to travel to delay their trips or refrain from going on the roads in the afternoon to give crews time to plow the roadways.
Snow is expected to be heaviest between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The governor's office says crews may be able to keep the primary roads clear for the afternoon rush hour, but drivers going home from work will likely be facing local streets and back roads that may not have been plowed.
