SALISBURY, Md.- Police have arrested the man they say is responsible for stealing a puppy from Salisbury Super Pet on Nov. 29.

According to Salisbury police, 28-year-old Joshua Raymond Utz of Glen Burnie, was identified as the suspect in the theft following a tip from the community. An arrest warrant was subsequently obtained, and the dog was returned, unharmed, to the store by a family member.

Police said that on Nov. 29, Utz was seen on surveillance video removing the 10-week-old Dachshund from its crate, then concealing the puppy inside his jacket and leaving the store.

Utz was located Wednesday, Dec. 11 at a home on Railroad Avenue in Pittsville, and taken into custody. He was charged with theft less than $1,000 and released to the custody of Wicomico Central Booking.
