Wicomico County, Md: On December 11, 2013, a Wicomico County jury found Ricky Lamont Melton, age 42, of Wicomico County, guilty of attempted robbery, carrying a concealed dangerous weapon, fleeing and eluding, and reckless driving.

The charges arose out of an incident on May 13, 2013 when Melton entered the Temple Hills Motel in broad daylight wearing a bandana on his face and handed the clerk a note demanding money.

Authorities say Melton was ultimately apprehended after a vehicular and foot chase which ended near the Soft Touch Car Wash on North Salisbury Blvd.

The case was presented to the jury by Senior Assistant State's Attorney Paul Montemuro and Assistant State's Attorney Ethan Freyman.

Melton will be sentenced by the court in sixty days.
