MT. VERNON, Md.- Authorities are searching for the cause of a Monday night fire that caused more than $200,000 in damages to a school bus, a one-story poultry house and a one-story outbuilding in the Mt. Vernon area west of Princess Anne.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on the 27000 block of Mt. Vernon Road.

Twenty-six firefighters from the Mt. Vernon, Deal Island, Allen and Princess Anne volunteer fire companies responded but were unable to get the fire under control, investigators said.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $125,000 in damage to the structures and another $100,000 to their contents.

Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause and the area of origin for the fire.
