Del. Judge OKs Additional Financing for Fisker

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP)- A bankruptcy court judge is allowing Fisker Automotive additional financing as it works through bankruptcy.

Judge Kevin Gross signed an order Tuesday allowing the electric vehicle maker to receive $1.7 million in loans from Hybrid Technologies LLC, the company seeking to buy Fisker through bankruptcy. Gross approved a second advance on an interim basis, constituting an additional $2.7 million from Hybrid.

The filing includes a 12-week budget, which anticipates a total of $8.1 million in financing from Hybrid through Feb. 10.

The order comes a day after Gross approved another order providing ongoing utility services to the former General Motors plant near Newport. Fisker had planned to reopen the plant, but filed for bankruptcy last month.
