Mayor Bloomberg Endorses Md. Attorney General Candidate

Posted:

NEW YORK CITY- New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says he is endorsing Senator Brian Frosh in the 2014 race for Maryland Attorney General.

In a statement, Mayor Bloomberg gave credit to Frosh for efforts to reduce gun violence in Maryland.

"Reducing gun violence in America is a moral and social imperative. No one has done more in Maryland than Brian Frosh to lead the fight against illegal guns and protect citizens from incidents of gun violence," said New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Mayors Against Illegal Guns Co-Chair.

Frosh sponsored Maryland's Firearms Safety Act of 2013 that went into effect on October 1, which Frosh says is meant to make Maryland a leading state on gun violence prevention.

"I'm honored to have Mayor Bloomberg's support," said Frosh. "His efforts to prevent gun violence have been an example for the nation, and we believe that Maryland's new law will save thousands of lives."

Also running for Md. Attorney General in 2014 are Delegates Aisha Braveboy and Bill Frick, as listed on Md. State Board of Elections.
