One Person Treated For Injuries After Accidental Fire


CHESTERTOWN, Md – One person was treated for minor injuries they sustained in an accidental apartment fire on Tuesday night.

Firefighters responded to the call around 11:30 p.m. on the 100 block of North Queen Street at a three-story multi-family dwelling.

The state's fire marshal said Deborah Stone was smoking in her apartment while on medical oxygen. She was treated for non life-threatening injuries at Chester River Hospital Center.

Fire investigators said it took about 33 firefighters about 10 minutes to get the flames under control. Officials said the fire caused about $85,000 in damages.
