Police Find Drugs During a Traffic Stop, Arrest Three

Posted:

BERLIN, Md. – Maryland State Police arrested three New York men after finding suspected methamphetamine and cocaine during a traffic stop.

It happened on Route 113 at 7:50 a.m. on Friday.

Police say a trooper pulled over a Ford Explorer for going 64 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police then performed a K-9 scan on the vehicle and found narcotics. Troopers found a zip-lock bag that contained nine capsules of suspected methamphetamine and another bag of suspected cocaine. There was also a plastic bag containing 58 capsules.

Police arrested Andrew Monteverde, Michael Mignone and Peter Vetrone, and seized $1,186 as result of the arrest and probable cause that the currency was drug money.

The estimated street value for resale of the "bath salts" is $800-$1000, and $400-$500 for the cocaine.

All three men were held at the Worcester County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
