SALISBURY, Md.- Police are looking for a suspect wanted for attacking and robbing an 87-year-old man at his Salisbury home.

Salisbury police said that shortly after 10:30 p.m. Friday, the male suspect knocked on the victim's door at his home on the 700 block of Jefferson Street. According to police, when the victim looked outside and noticed that it was the same man who had raked his leaves earlier that same day, he opened the door. That is when investigators say the suspect demanded the victim's money and entered the home while holding a blunt object in his hand. The victim resisted and was struck once in the back of the head with the blunt object, police said.

Authorities said the suspect then ripped the pocket off of the victim's pants while stealing his wallet. The suspect then ran away with the wallet containing currency, credit cards, and victim's identification cards. The victim did not require any medical attention, according to investigators.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20 years of age, 6-foot-tall, thin build, light facial hair, small braids in hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a dark toboggan hat. The suspect had also been seen walking in the area carrying a rake earlier in the day.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Salisbury Police Department at (410) 548-3165 or Crime Solvers at (410) 548-1776. Crime Solvers will pay up to $1,000 for tips that lead to an arrest.
