SALISBURY, Md.- Maryland State Police have identified a Salisbury couple killed in a New Year's Eve crash in Wicomico County.

Police said 75-year-old Robert Lee Dickerson and 70-year-old Sarah Liska Dickerson, died as a result of a car crash in the area of Route 50 westbound at Woodyard Road shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Troopers said a preliminary investigation revealed the Buick, which was being driven by Robert Dickerson, failed to yield right of way, and crossed westbound Route 50 into the path of a Ford E-350, which was traveling westbound on Route 50. Both Robert and Sarah Dickerson died as a result of the collision.

Police said the driver of the Ford E-350, identified as 40-year-old Wilquin R. Matos of Salisbury, was not injured. His passenger, a 17-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries.

According to police, neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash, and no charges are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
