DSU Football Player Named to HSRN All-America Team

DOVER, Del.- Delaware State University wide receiver Milton Williams III (jr.; Washington, D.C.) has been named to the 2013 Heritage Sports Radio Network Division I/FCS Black College All-America Football Team.

Williams was tops in the MEAC in receptions (5.3 pg) and receiving yards (80.7 pg) this past season. He had league highs of 58 catches for 888 yards, and was tied for second in the conference with five receiving touchdowns. The 58 receptions rank sixth-best for a season in DSU history. Williams had five 100-yard receiving games in 2013, including a career-best 179 vs. Morgan State in the season finale. He set a career-high with 10 receptions in the opener against Delaware.

Williams was also named to the 2013 All-MEAC First Team.

He helped lead the Hornets to a 5-6 overall record and 5-3 mark in the conference during the 2013 season. Delaware State was tied for third in the final league standings.

This marks the second year in a row and third time in four seasons that a Hornet receiver has earned Black College All-America honors. DSU wideout Travis Tarpley was named to the 2013 Sheridan Broadcast Network All-America Team, while Justin Wilson was a 2010 Sheridan All-America selection.

Southern University (La.) quarterback Dray Joseph was selected as the HSRN Division I Offensive Player-of-the-Year, while Tennessee State University safety Daniel Fitzpatrick was chosen as the top defensive player.

Rod Reed of Tennessee State was named HSRN Division I Coach-of-the-Year.
