SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury man is facing theft and related charges following accusations that he stole copper pipes from a home and then sold them to a recycling center.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said an investigation revealed that 48-year-old Troy Curtis Conners opened up the crawl space of an unoccupied home on the 6000 block of Diamondback Drive in Salisbury and then entered that area without permission and cut off sections of copper pipe from underneath the dwelling.

Police said that during the investigation, the vehicle Conners operated was identified and he was also found to have sold the copper in question to a local recycling center.

Conners was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property and theft under $1,000. He was ordered held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bond.
