Md. Commission on Judicial Disabilities Names New Director

CROWNSVILLE, Md. – The Maryland Commission on Judicial Disabilities has a new executive director.

The commission named Carol A. Crawford as the new director, succeeding Steven P. Lemmey who passed away on Sept. 17, 2013.

Crawford has served as a team leader and line prosecutor in the Montgomery County, Maryland State's Attorney's Office for nearly 17 years, according to the Commission. She was responsible for the investigation and prosecution of many cases. From November 1993 to January 1997, Crawford was an assistant public defender for Montgomery County.

The executive director position is the chief investigator, prosecutor and office administrator for the two-tiers of the Commission: Judicial Inquiry Board Members and Commission Members.
