Massive Power Outage In Parts Of Worcester County

OCEAN CITY, Md. - A massive power outage is affecting customers in much of Worcester County.

According to the Berlin Fire Company, a transformer blew near Atlantic General Hospital and took down a couple of power lines with it.    

According to Delmarava Power, 3,700 people are without power in Ocean City. Crews say the outages should be repaired by 8 p.m. Saturday.
     
Strong winds led to inoperable traffic lights between Berlin and Ocean City. Reports of fallen trees and debris are scattered across numerous roads.
     
Delmarva Power and Choptank Electric are reporting massive power outages in Snow Hill, Ocean Pines and Pocomoke City due to strong winds.
     
Maryland State Police report that Route 12 and Governor Smith Lane are down to one lane due to fallen trees.
     
Police urge residents not to go outside if they can avoid it, and to drive with extreme caution if you do have to drive.
