SEAFORD, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a Seaford man on drug and gun charges after they say he was found in possession of more than 80 bags of heroin in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Shaquil Turnage, 20, is charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, receiving a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana and two counts of drug paraphernalia.

Police said Turnage's arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred Monday, when troopers assigned to the Governor's Task Force in Sussex County received information that he was selling drugs in the area of Colonial Garden Apartments on Porter Street in Seaford.

GFF members, along with the DSP Special Operations Response Team, established surveillance of the apartment complex where police say they observed Turnage enter the parking lot in a white Honda Accord at around 5 p.m. Troopers made contact with Turnage after he parked the car and took him into custody. According to police, he was found to be in possession of 86 bags of heroin totaling 1.29 grams along with .5 grams of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Police said they also received information that Turnage had a handgun in his possession. Troopers then responded to his home in Seaford where they say they recovered a stolen .45-caliber pistol.

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Turnage was ordered held on $6,000 secured bond.
