LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va.– Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has been named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team. He becomes the 32nd Redskins player to be selected since 1975, and the second tight end, Chris Cooley (2004).
Despite missing seven games due to injury, Reed finished the year with 45 receptions for 499 yards, both Redskins' single-season rookie records. Reed's 45 receptions tied for seventh in the NFL among rookies.
Through weeks six through 11 Reed captured 32 receptions, eight more than any other tight end.
Reed's biggest game was a week seven match up against Chicago. He recorded a touchdown, nine receptions and 134 receiving yards. Washington won that contest 45-41.
