Troopers Investigating Early Morning Fatal Accident

MILLINGTON, Md- Maryland State Police said a Clayton man was killed after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a vacant house.

According to investigators, just after 2 a.m. Saturday morning, troopers from the Maryland State Police Centreville barrack were dispatched to the scene of an accident near the intersection of Rt. 291 and Crane Street. Authorities said responding troopers found Delaware police already on the scene.

Maryland State Police learned an officer from Clayton tried to stop the driver, identified as 25-year-old Adam M. Hughes, who police said, was driving erratically and refused to stop for police in Delaware.

Troopers said Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene.The Maryland State Police Crash Team responded to conduct a detailed crash investigation.
