EASTON, Md.- An Easton man is facing child abuse and related charges following accusations that he struck and injured his 14-month-old child.

The Talbot County Sheriff's Office said that on Jan. 16 deputies were called to a home on the 9000 block of Black Dog Alley to investigate a reported case of physical child abuse. Police said the deputies came into contact with a 21-year-old Cordova woman who alleged that her 14-month-old child had been struck by the child's father, identified as 27-year-old Trey B. Largent. According to police, when the deputies found Largent inside the home they noted an injury to his right arm, which was caused by him punching the glass in his storm door.

Largent was arrested and taken to Dorchester General Hospital for treatment. Upon his release he charged with second-degree child abuse, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He was then ordered held on a $45,000 bond.

The child was treated at Easton Memorial Hospital and released, police said.
