BALTIMORE (WBOC/AP)- The Maryland Transportation Authority says wind restrictions are in effect at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. White-out conditions are also expected at the bridge, which may cause possible traffic holds.

Wind restrictions mean house trailers, empty box trailers or any vehicle that, in the opinion of law-enforcement personnel, may not safely cross the bridge will be prohibited from traveling the bridge.  Motorists who are denied passage will be assisted with safely turning around.

The transportation authority says anyone who does not need to travel should stay off the roads.

Motorists are advised to call 1-877-BAYSPAN (229-7726) for current traffic conditions.
