YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's Carlton Sheppard has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor that Sheppard has received in his collegiate career.
A junior from Baltimore, Md., Sheppard broke school-records in the 400m (50.33) and 800m Dash (1:56.92) in back-to-back meets. Sheppard led all Division III runners in each race, both of which are ECAC qualifying marks. Sheppard also ran the fastest leg for the 4x400m Relay Team which set a new CAC record in 3:24.20 and is the fastest non-converted time in the Nation.
Sheppard and the Wolverines return to the track on January 24 when they travel for the six-team Muhlenberg Invitational.
