Frustration Caused by Strong Winds and Blowing Snow

SALISBURY, Md. - The freezing temperatures were bad enough.  But couple them with gusting winds and it made Wednesday a brutal day to be outside.  For those who ventured outside, trying to clear snow in any fashion proved to be frustrating.

People like Michael Mann were attempting to shovel sidewalks and driveways in Salisbury Wednesday morning, but they were also fighting with Mother Nature at every turn.

"Little chilly, little windy.  Kind of frustrating when you shovel the snow and you have to go back over it," said Mann.

The whipping winds and snow flying through the air also made it tough for drivers at time.  But the snow also ended back up on the roadways, many of which had already been plowed.  We spoke to several plow drivers who said that these conditions slow down their days drastically.  Having to re plow roads limits how many other spots they can get too.  Even plowing on a smaller scale can be difficult.  Tony Warner was working on a parking lot of a church in Salisbury.

"Oh, it can be frustrating.  Once you get it all cleared off and everything, and the customer will call you back and then you go back and do it again and that's a pain in the tail because they're other people who want to have their yards and stuff done too at the same time," said Warner.

The good news for those who braved the cold for shoveling and plowing on Wednesday, the winds are expected to die down Thursday so extra shoveling and plowing, hopefully, isn't necessary.
