Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Wilmington Airport

Posted: Updated:

NEW CASTLE, Del. – A plane made an emergency landing at Wilmington Airport on Wednesday morning, according to the Delaware River and Bay Authority.

The DRBA said that at around 10 a.m., United Express CRJ 700, operated by Mesa Airlines, made an emergency landing due to problems with the onboard oxygen generator.

Sixty-one passengers and four crew members were on board, traveling from Washington-Dulles to Boston-Logan. The Delaware River and Bay Authority said the plane landed on Runway one and turned off onto Taxiway K.

Officials said the Delaware Air National Guard provided buses to transfer the passengers and crew members to the Airport Terminal Building.

United and Mesa Airlines will make alternative plans for the passengers to complete their trip to Boston.
