FERRY POINT PARK, Md. – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is looking for volunteers to help with the final phase of restoration for the shoreline in Ferry Point Park.

The State and Queen Anne's County are working together to restore the loss of wetland in Kent Island, protect Kent Narrows from extreme weather, and safeguard land and sea life habitat, according to DNR. The area is a 41-acre parcel of marshland where wildlife live. The project has been nearly five years of planning and five months of construction.

The final phase is grass planting, scheduled for this spring. To volunteer to help with grass planting this spring contact Claudia Donegan at cdonegan@dnr.state.md.us.

For more information on the project in general call 410-260-8786.
